Data Collection/ Water Sampling

2002 – Chris Owen began boat contracting and collecting water samples for Environment Southland. The programme was initially set up and training was carried out by Environment Southland as it was recognised that navigation on the Waituna Lagoon needed local skippers boat experience and specialised equipment that council staff did not possess.  Since 2002, Southern Waterways has continued to provide Environment Southland with water data collection sampling which has now developed into many other projects and areas.
